HALLSTATT DAYS

The “Hallstatt days – an Iron age festival in the Golden Valley”, held on June 19th and 20th, were opened with an exhibition “The Archaeology of Kaptol”. The aim of the exhibition was to present the community of Kaptol, which has inhabited the area for the past seven millennia. You can visit it until June 30th, 10AM-5PM in the Kaptol Municipality Hall (Vijećnica Općine Kaptol)
But, being a part of the European Archaeology Days, the Hallstatt days also held a lecture by prof. Hrvoje Potrebica (Department of Archaeology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb and Centre for Prehistoric Research) and dr.sc. Borut Križ (Dolenjska Museum, Novo Mesto) - The Significance of the Iron Age Kaptol in the European Context.
On the second day we had loads of fun on the guided tour, weaving, cooking, or learning about archaeology and the Iron Age. Check out the photos!
